Short answer

Portable Coffee Machine Landed Cost

Calculate landed cost from the actual quoted scope: goods, separately charged customization, origin charges, international freight, insurance, applicable import charges and destination handling. Divide costs by the relevant unit count. A machine price alone is not a landed cost.

The seven lines to reconcile

This is a purchasing worksheet, not a freight quotation or a statement of applicable tax rates. The delivery term and destination determine which charges need separate confirmation.

Seven purchasing categories; amounts and applicability must be confirmed.
LineCost itemCheck before adding
1GoodsModel quantity × quoted unit price
2Separate customizationAlready included in the unit price?
3Origin handlingWhose quoted scope includes it?
4International freightPacking plan and delivery destination match?
5InsuranceIncluded, optional or separately arranged?

7Destination handling / deliveryAvoid counting a door-delivery charge twice

A hypothetical 16-unit arithmetic example

Assume goods cost 16 × USD 40 = USD 640, freight is USD 120 and separately confirmed handling is USD 40. Assume all other applicable worksheet lines have been resolved and are zero or included for this example only. The illustrative total is USD 800, and USD 800 ÷ 16 = USD 50 per purchased unit.

None of those prices is a TK Classic offer. They demonstrate the calculation and must not be used as a budget for an actual shipment. Replace every assumption with a current quotation and a confirmed destination-cost scope.

Use two denominators when units are reserved

If 2 of those 16 machines are retained for demonstrations, inventory still contains 16 purchased units. The same illustrative USD 800 spread over only 14 intended selling units is about USD 57.14 per selling unit. That is an internal launch-budget allocation, not a new supplier unit price.

Keep the two figures labeled. Otherwise a change in display-stock policy can look like a change in factory price. Selling fees, advertising and customer returns belong in a separate contribution calculation if you need to evaluate commercial viability.

Close the open items before comparing suppliers

Two totals can differ because the suppliers quoted different delivery scopes. Ask what is included, where responsibility changes and which destination services remain outside the quotation. Use the same model configuration, packing assumptions and currency before comparing totals.

Do not insert an estimated duty or tax percentage merely to fill a blank. Resolve the product, destination and importer details with the responsible customs or tax specialist. Treatment of recoverable taxes also needs to follow the buyer's accounting policy.

  • Write the quotation date and currency beside each input.
  • Mark included costs rather than silently entering zero.
  • Recalculate when quantity, packaging or destination changes.
Buyer questions

Questions buyers ask before approval

Is USD 40 the TK Classic wholesale price?

No. USD 40 is a hypothetical arithmetic input. Obtain a model-specific written quotation for current prices and scope.

Does this worksheet set a duty or tax rate?

No. Applicable import charges and accounting treatment require confirmation for the actual product, destination and buyer.

Why distinguish purchased units from selling units?

Reserved demonstration or support stock changes an internal launch-budget allocation. It does not change the number of units purchased or the supplier's quoted unit price.
